ekasyāḥ sundaryā gopyā anyāṁ prati dṛḍha-vacanam –
kuvalaya-dṛśaḥ saṅketa-sthā dṛg-añcala-kauśalair
manasija-kalā-nāṭī-prastāvanām abhitanvatām |
na kila ghaṭate rādhā-raṅga-prasaṅga-vidhāyitā-
vrata-vilasite śaithilyasya cchaṭāpy agha-vidviṣaḥ ||
ṭīkā: varaṁ khalu sa tad-vrataṁ kuvalaya-dṛkṣu vidadhātu yato hi tasyām eva tat kadācid vidhātuṁ na śaknoti | sā tasya mahattama-madātyayo’naṅga-raṅgaś ca tad-vilāsa-vane tasyāḥ prāṇā eva |
One beautiful gopī says firmly to another:
‘Let the lily-eyed ones use the dexterity of their sidelong glances to extend the invitation to the sensual plays in the rendezvous kuñjas – it won’t be of any use to them, since the enemy of Agha will not waver a bit from accomplishing His vrata of making Rādhā deeply attached to the dance of love.’
Commentary: In fact, it might be better if He applied His vrata to the lily-eyed ones… because He can never apply it to Her. She is His greatest delirium… and the dance of love in Their playful forest is Her very own life…

aḥ, tac-chrutena sā bahu sukhāyeta parantu sā niyata-kopātmaka-samullāsenopakṣiped yat –
sphuṭaṁ kālī śaibyā camara-vanitā madhyama-vadhūr
mahā-padmā padmā parama-ruci-kṛt-kāmada-kucā |
varā ṣaṣṭhī candrāvalir api lased yasya mahiṣī
kathaṁ tasyāpy anyā bhavatu bhuvi yogyā nava-vadhūḥ ||
Oh, if She heard this She might possibly be very happy but perhaps She could allude, with retained anger-related euphoria, that –
‘He already has many mistresses. Kālī and Śaibyā are the least important of them; Padmā, who is like a great lotus flower, is in the middle; and the most important is His Queen Candrāvalī Ṣaṣṭhī, whose breasts inflame Him with lusty desires and give Him great pleasure. What need does He then have for any new and fit mistress in this world?’

ṭīkā: tasminn anya-strī-lampaṭe sati tasya mat-saṅgāvaśyakatā kim iti sā kiṁcid-aviśvāsena kādācitka-vismayena ca jātu nāvagacchet | paraṁ tasyāḥ sulabhetara-viśada-saundaryotkṛṣṭa-sthitis tāṁ tan-madhura-krīḍe sthāpayed iti sambhavati | yataḥ –
svidyan dṛganta-capalāñcala-vījito’pi |
kṣubhyan sva-kānti-nagarāntara-vāsito’pi |
tṛṣyan muhuḥ smita-sudhāṁ paripāyito’pi śrī-rādhayā |
Commentary: Perhaps with a little disbelief and occasional amazement She might not understand why He would have the necessity to be with Her when He runs after other women.

However, it is possible that the exalted position of Her rare and immaculate beauty could make Her continue Her sweet game… because –
Although She fans Him with the corners of Her restless eyes, still He is perspiring… Although She shelters Him in the abode of Her effulgent beauty, still He is trembling… Although She makes Him drink the nectar of Her smile in great quantities, still He is thirsty…

ṭīkā: rādhā-vallabha! tvaṁ kapaṭiko dhṛṣṭo ca dhūrtakas tvaṁ ca sadādhikecchayā nirlajjo’pi bhavasīti niḥśaṁsayaṁ tat-priyatama-gopī-svarūpā sā tasyā surucira-ramyatā-komalatāyās taṁ bhṛṣaṁ raṭet |
Commentary: Without a doubt, due to the delicacy of Her fulminating gorgeousness and just as His most beloved gopī She could also scream at Him intensely: ‘Rādhāvallabha! You’re a crooked and audacious rascal!! And you’re also shameless because you always… want more!!’
